Title: splitting rocket-sized wood
Post by: keithturtle on February 05, 2016, 09:26:59 AM
One of the harseles with rocket stoves is getting the wood to a size that burns well.  I stumbled across something called a "kindling cracker" and came up with my own iteration made from cheap harbor freight chisels.  Works really good, safe and quick

Yes, but it is incredibly slow compared to this thing.  Working on my own version of the popular "wheel of death" as found on web.  Trying to balance speed (rpm) with marse (added ballast) to make an effective splitter for 2x4 size wood and smaller. Not concerned with big stuff that I'll use the hydraulic splitter for.

Safety is questionable as well
